The RELEX team is now looking for a Business Consultant whose main responsibilities will include supporting and leading different retail and supply chain planning development projects in the field of demand forecasting, space and assortment analysis, analytics and retail process development.  You will take responsibility for delivering projects on time, within budget and still exceeding customer expectations. Your role can be adjusted according to your skills, interests, and experience.

Ideal Candidate:

A motivated individual who has a combination of Project Management skills, Business Consultancy skills and a knowledge of the retail industry. This includes retail supply chain, store management, category management, assortment management, and space planning.  The individual should be able to influence business strategy and communicate effectively at all levels. After successfully performing in this role, the Business Consultant will be given opportunities to further develop based on their skillset and interests into roles such as Project Manager, Solutions Expert, or Account Manager.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in different aspects of software projects including: project planning, risk management, change management, and client relationship management
  • Experience in a minimum of three of the following areas:
    • Assortment planning
    • Floor planning
    • Schematic / planogram execution
    • Space optimisation
    • Store operations
    • Category development
    • Supply Chain
    • Store Systems
  • Experience with a grocery, consumer products goods (CPG), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) retailer or supplier, preferably in space planning, product ranging, or merchandising
  • Solid understanding of retail industry best practice
  • Experience of mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practice
  • Previous consulting experience preferred

  • Technical competence demonstrated by the ability to understand basic to intermediate level technical concepts
  • Client relationship management
  • Microsoft Office required, SQL or BI skills are a bonus

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support all stages of a project lifecycle (e.g. discovery, testing, training) as assigned with knowledge of industry best practice
  • Responsible for the design, development and presentation of software demonstrations, that exhibit RELEX SOLUTIONS’s unique concepts and product offerings in a context relevant to clients’ business needs
  • Working with clients on a consultancy basis to understand and optimize clients’ business processes and identify areas of opportunity to increase sales, reduce costs and maximize the efficiency of in-store operations through optimized product assortments and inventory management
  • Provide thought leadership, innovation and confidence to challenge business strategy with clients
  • Match business requirements with RELEX Solution’s s concepts, demonstrating and delivering the potential benefits of our solutions in a client’s own context
  • Perform business analysis and problem-solving activities at the strategic, operational, and organizational level
  • Execute other tasks as assigned and as needed
  • Actively participate in the growing company culture
  • Flexible to travel an average of 85%
